Tropical Storm Fay
Scott’s on Fifth was closed on August 19 & 20 , 2008 due to the Tropical Storm Fay. Not only were the winds serious, it was the rain and flooding that wreaked havoc in indialantic and melbourne. If you have never been in a Tropical Storm the attached video is what happened to our house. And this was the second day!
Your animals know you!
I’ll bet you’ve never seen a pet like the one in this Video. In 1969, two friends, John Rendall and Ace Berg, purchased a lion. At the time, Christian the lion was a 35-pound cub. He had been born in a zoo. The friends raised Christian in their London home. All three hung out in a friend’s furniture shop on the weekends. Within a year, Christian had grown to 185 lbs. Rendall and Berg realized they couldn’t keep him much longer. But they didn’t know what to do with him. A chance encounter changed that. Two actors from the film Born Free walked into the furniture store. The actors recommended a conservationist, George Adamson, living in Kenya. Christian was soon in Africa. There he was rehabilitated and released into the wild. In 1974, Rendall and Berg decided to visit Christian one last time. He was now a wild animal. Adamson told them it was doubtful that Christian could be found. No one had seen him in nine months. The two flew to Kenya, anyway. On the day they landed, Christian appeared outside Adamson’s camp. Somehow, he knew. He waited outside the camp until Rendall and Berg arrived. This video was taken during their reunion with Christian. What a story! What a video!
Tropical Storm Fay hits Indialantic
On August 19, 2008 Scott’s did not open due to Tropical Storm Fay. As news and media flooded indialantic all eyes were watching to see if we were in danger , I went out to the beach and here is what it looked like.
Late Night at Scott’s
A recent Thursday evening August 14 to be exact was Helens birthday! She was surprised by some friends and this is a taste of the fun that was had by all….including me Scott! Thanks
Sage Chicken
This is from one of my favorite spots in Washington DC “La Tomate” in DuPont Circle. It is usually served at lunch if they still serve it at all. If they don’t, that would be a shame. The flavors of the chicken and the sage are a wonderful mix.
Most of all the dish is vey easy and quick to make. All you have to do is have your pasta or potatoes and vegetables ready then your set to go and visit with you’re guests! Enjoy and let me know if you tried the recipe! What is your favorite restaurant in DC?
What does Scott do on Monday?
As most of our guests at Scott’s on Fifth know, Bill and myself spend most days and nights and late nights in the restaurant. Sooooo just to let you know that when your in your Scott’s drinking wine and having a good time and things sometimes get a little out of control ……No Worries! Scott likes to let loose himself and a little Monday relaxation is what is the order of the day at Cantina Dos Amigos in Indialantic ..one of my favorites stops!

Late Night at Scott’s
If you have not had the opportunity to be part of the late scene at Scott’s , here is a taste of what can happen spontaneously
Provodenciales
We were all very excited to venture into the culinary world of Provo, me especially because I didn’t have to cook any of the meals and I could be a restaurant guest… Finally! Well, that’s not the whole truth, I did cook one evening I made a simple meal which consisted of me teaching Greg how to make roasted balsamic vegetables and pasta pomodoro with salad. I do have one suggestion… DON”T drink “rum punches” all day and then try to cook while on vacation… it doesn’t work!
This is the list of restaurants we went to and our group opinion over all … some good and one not so good! We chose to watch the sunset with champange and laughs at Magnolia, we had a great time in the bar that night and noticed how nice the terrace was, so we decided the next night we would try dinner. Pauline in the bar is a great asset for Magnolia, as well as the server assistants. The owner and manager are A WHOLE OTHER STORY.
