Gene Cate (2006)
With a mixture of shops and restaurants, Fifth Avenue is certainly the center piece of Indialantic. From the eastern foot of the causeway bridge to the ocean one can enjoy a leisurely walk, a coffee, ice cream, snack or fine meal.
I visited the new boy on the block and had a most present surprise. Located on what was the former site of the Atlantic Cafe, Scott's on Fifth has transformed what was a rather pedestrian facility into a vibrant, modern restaurant. Though small--barely seating three dozen--the restaurant has been completely refurbished and updated giving it an airy though intimate ambiance.
Certainly Scott's on Fifth has raised the bar for dining on the avenue. With attentive service from all hands, pleasant background music and attractive surroundings, Scott's is definitely worthy of high marks and a return visit.

- Scott's On Fifth (141 Fifth Ave., Indialantic, 729-9779) received 4 Palms shortly after opening 18 months ago and since that time has elevated its status to 5-Palm territory. The addition of a wine bar and ever-changing decor make this one of the area's hot spots. And, to this diner's pleasure, Scott's now accepts American Express, my card of choice.
- Scott’s on the 5th offers a unique blend of eclectic, casual and yet gourmet dining experience at its most artistically exquisite. Scott, Bill, Henry, Liza and Laurel simply provide the most wonderful seafood (and other exceptional dishes) that you will find in Brevard County … or anywhere else in central Florida for that matter. Outstanding! "
- Scott's is first and last stop for "over the top" food, atmosphere and service. This place is the new standard for fine dining in Brevard and beyond."
- "Being a lobster bisque snob, I had tasted the very best at all the top restaurants, but I will never eat another after having Scott's Crab Bisque...truly heaven! Worth the drive from anywhere!"
- "Scott's on Fifth is the best upscale dining option in Brevard County. The menu is constantly changing as the chef uses only the freshest ingredients in his creative dishes. If you don't see a combination you like, just ask and they will do their best to create something you like. Try a seat at the bar for attentive service and entertaining conversation."
